New facility, the 18th on campus, will cater to the needs of students with families.

The Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) recently celebrated the inauguration of a new residence tower on its campus in Silang, Cavite, Philippines. The new Tower R, as it will be known, is the 18th building on campus and will cater specifically to the needs of students with families.

AIIAS administrators, students, faculty, and staff gathered on October 1 to celebrate those who had contributed to the newly constructed addition on campus.

The new residence tower has 16 three-bedroom units. Each unit has two bathrooms, a granite kitchen countertop, and a built-in study desk.

School leaders and students said this effort highlights the institution’s ongoing commitment to meet the increasing needs of its students. “The construction of this tower confirms AIIAS administration’s commitment to the provision of decent accommodation for its students and their families,” said AIIAS Student Association president Sanned Lubani during the ceremony. “The tower is also a confirmation of the selfless leadership God has given to AIIAS. Let us show how much we appreciate this favor by taking care of the apartments by being responsible.”

The tower’s construction began in June 2017 through the stated commitment of the AIIAS Board and administration to provide safe and comfortable accommodation for the students. Leaders reported its completion was made possible through donations from the Southern Asia-Pacific Division, the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, family and friends associated with the school, anonymous donors, and AIIAS Plant Fund contributions.

“We give glory to God because it is He who has willed and made this possible,” said AIIAS president Stephen Guptill during his acknowledgment speech. “God provided this new tower so that workers in His cause would be trained and prepared to go out and to serve Him.”

AIIAS leaders expressed their gratitude to the donors and the combined efforts of the architectural team. They also acknowledged the efforts of AIIAS Physical Plant Services, the IT department, and others who contributed to the project.

AIIAS is a graduate school that offers master’s and doctoral degrees in four areas: business, education, public health, and religion. The institution’s students hail from many countries in several continents, including a sizable group from Africa and other nations of Asia. AIIAS is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church world headquarters.
