My beloved church family, this week we have seen the restrictions tighten in our country. We have seen America pass China for most infected, and we have seen the deaths in Italy continue to grow. Our children have done schoolwork from home, some of us have felt ill, and the news has revealed that this sickness does affect more than just the elderly.
Despite all of this we have been blessed. To my knowledge, no one in our church district has become terrible ill or hospitalized from this virus. God has answer our prayers of Psalm 91. To God be the Glory.
At the end of this message you will find a call for the entire Seventh-day Adventist Church to participate together in 100 days of prayer. We will be praying for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, for the world to be receptive to the message of Christ, for God to remove this sickness from the land, for protection for his people during this time. Please join together with your sister churches in this district, this Union, this Division, and around the globe in praying to God during this time.
The particulars of how our district will connect to do this will be given Sunday afternoon.
The Bible says that if Gods people called upon his name, humble themselves, and seek his face, and turn from sin, then he will hear, he will forgive, and he will heal. The Bible says that we have a brother who can comfort us because he knows what it’s like to be human. The Bible says also that if we believe, we have an advocate in our side.
With all these great promises the Bible instructs us to come boldly to God’s throne for grace and help in time of need.
Beloved, now is the time to claim these promises. Join the global church for 100 days, in coming boldly before the throne of God.
Happy Sabbath to you and your families, and may God richly bless you.
