Three-Star rating is the highest possible quality rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital has been ranked in the top 7 percent of hospitals nationwide for the quality of care it provides patients who undergo coronary bypass graft surgery, the most common type of open-heart surgery in the U.S.
In November 2018, the hospital received a Three-Star rating — the highest possible quality rating — from the Society for Thoracic Surgeons. The organization analyzes many national cardiac surgery data categories to determine which hospitals meet the stringent Three-Star criteria.
The quality rating measures patient outcomes, processes, and consistent use of evidence-based care throughout a patient’s hospitalization.

Medical experts also shared some advice for people who experience signs of a heart attack, such as tightness in the chest; pain or discomfort in the neck, jaw, or arms; shortness of breath; or fatigue. “They should call 9-1-1 [in the U.S.] immediately,” they said.
