Adventist college in Bolivia inaugurates Center of Influence

On Thursday, March 14, Cochabamba Adventist College inaugurated a “Center of Influence,” the first within the Central Adventist Education System in Bolivia.

According to regional district pastor Dennis Ortega, the Center will offer health education courses to students already enrolled in the college and their parents, with personal Bible studies as a follow-up option. They hope to involve more families in the activities of the local church.

Roxana Veizaga, director of the Cochabamba Adventist College, reported that 12 parents and 15 students have showed interest in the program so far and after this initial phase, the Center will extend a general invitation to the public.

The study plan until July includes Healthy Cooking for adults and Literacy and Fine Motor Skills for children. These were determined to be the most preferred courses as a result of surveys given to the students. Classes meet on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Adela Zamudio Educational Unit, between Alcides Arguedas and De La Tapia.

Veizaga thanks the Adventist Educational Association, Pastor Benjamín Belmonte, president of the Central Bolivian Mission, and Dennis Ortega, district pastor, for providing educational and missional support and for helping to execute this project.
