I n Joinville, the largest city of Brazil’s Santa Catarina state, Seventh-day Adventist women are making a difference in each other’s lives—and for eternity.

The Central Joinville Seventh-day Adventist Church in the city’s Boehmerwald neighborhood offered a program, Sewing Life for Eternity from November 7 to 11 and gathered members from all the district’s churches.

Among the subjects covered during the services were the biblical stories of people who had their lives transformed when they met Jesus, as was the case with Mary Magdalene, Zacchaeus, and the cure of the paralytic in Capernaum.

Singer Jéssica Dantas was a featured participant. The meetings also saw the baptism of several new members, as well as praise meetings and the distribution of gifts to the participants.

“They all felt valued, and the church was able to feel the strength of women,” said Ana Paula Andrade, one of the organizers.

The event was attended by the Adventist Church’s Women’s Ministry leader for the southern region of Brazil, Denise Lopes, and Marlinton Lopes, her husband and the Adventist Church leader for the South Brazil Union.
