President of Uruguay receives copy of the book Hope for the Family

Within the framework of the Impact Hope project, the president of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Tabaré Vázquez, received a copy of the book Hope for the Family from the leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the country.

The delegation introduced the president to initiatives by the Church in the Uruguayan territory; among them is the Impacto Esperanza reading project , which takes place every year in the month of May. The president stressed that: “calling the population to turn to reading is tremendously important. Our young and old should continue with the reading of books.”

Vazquez continued, “I understand that the family is the basis and the sustenance of any society. It is that family that can give us all the elements so that, through the education we receive and complete with the teachings of schools and colleges; we can achieve a better quality of life for all citizens and a peaceful and comfortable coexistence for all.”

The leaders of the Adventist Church of Uruguay present at the meeting were Henry Mainhard, head of the Department of Home and Family; Carlos Correa, director of Publications;  Mathias Mosconi, Youth director; and Derik Orellana of the Central Adventist Church of Montevideo. In addition, they gave away health literature and the book The Conflict of the Centuries.

The Church in Uruguay intends to distribute 100,000 copies of Hope for the Familythroughout the country, and thousands more are being shared throughout South America. This material shares several essential aspects for successful family and interpersonal relationships.
