How big a thank you have you said this week? My neighbour works in a local supermarket. She told me how good it felt to be thanked and to feel valued during this crisis. The reality of the value of ordinary people doing ordinary but important jobs has hit home. They are the ‘new celebrity’.

So while you sit at home, lock your door and stay safe, why not share this message of thanks to farmers, shop workers, pharmacists, bakers and more – all those who contribute in real ways to our safety, security and well-being.

#dearcoronavirus 7 is available for sharing from both YouTube and Facebook and is also translated into multiple languages. Please share with the hashtags: #dearcoronavirus, #YouAreAlsoHeroes, and #IamNotAlone.

Dearcoronavirus videos are having an impact. An older viewer writes, “Lovely post. It feels as if we are living in a surreal world where every day is Sunday – no traffic, people or open shops except one or two. We clapped the Health Workers last night and it was as if we were at one with our neighbors, also clapping. This feeling of togetherness is very important and reminiscent of WW2. I hope the feeling will continue.”

A Conference Communication director reported that she is overjoyed and emotional every time she shares a new video. Another viewer adds, “Your videos are very emotional, real and strong. Each of these videos makes me cry with emotion! What I mostly like is the openness of the message that impacts people who do not know God or have wandered away or left the church… You guys are touching differently many hearts.”

Our thanks go to the GAiN Europe leadership team and the staff that make this public awareness project happen, sharing messages of hope around the world. Our key production team this week was led by the Inter-American Division. Our key audience is world-wide! Our key audience is you!
