After many years under communist rule, government officials in the Euro-Asia region allowed the Seventh-day Adventist church to open Zaoksky Adventist Seminary. Known today as Zaoksky Adventist University, it was the first Protestant university to receive government approval in the country of Russia. And recently, Hope Channel Ukraine received the right to broadcast in Ukraine and over Russia.
